Grant writing

How does one write a successful grant?

An important question no doubt, as 1) the funding environment is becoming increasingly competitive and 2) there are many researchers especially those early in their post-doc career who are inexperienced in what funders are looking for in a proposal and would benefit from clear and preferably funder-specific advice.

Here I’ll post items of advice, hints and tips from across the research and funder community on how to structure applications to give them the best chance of obtaining funding.

Often Higher Education Institutions arrange grant writing workshops for academic and research staff. Please contact research support staff within your school/department for information.
